Real estate expert Fay Sanders’ arrival at Colliers International has coincided with the peak season for residential leasing and new data showing a recovery appears to be underway in Perth’s rental market.
REIWA fgures for the September quarters how residential leasing activity increased 4.7 per cent and the number of listings for rent declined 9.5 per cent, compared with the previous quarter. Perth’s overall median rent price also remained stable at $350 per week in the June and September quarters.
In her new role at the helm of the Residential Management Division, Ms Sanders, will lead the Colliers team as it prepares for the start of a new year, the market’s busiest leasing season. “The new year marks the changeover time for residential tenancies and is the peak leasing season,” Ms Sanders said.
“With new tenants wanting to be in their homes in time for the new school year or the start of the university semester, and many job transfers also taking effect at this time, we’re bracing for a flurry of activity on the residential front.”
Ms Sanders, who also has strata management and sales experience with major developers, said she would be bringing skills from her 30- year career in the real estate industry to her new role.
