Like many cities, Perth is grappling with apartment accommodation close to its central business district and while planning reforms and market forces will unlock more sites, transit oriented
developments are moving quickly to fill the void.
“The next best thing to an inner-city address is a suburban location with great transport links to the CBD and that’s exactly what’s taking place at the new town centre The Village at Wellard,” said Colliers International Sales Executive Samantha Ferraz. One of Perth’s premium transit oriented developments, The Village at Wellard is a multi-award winning community and one of just a handful where the distance between the apartments and the train station can be covered in a two-minute walk. The train journey from Wellard into Perth’s CBD is 31 minutes. For residents commuting further south, the Kwinana Freeway is only four minutes away and Mandurah is 22 minutes by train.
“Time spent travelling is getting more and more scrutiny in the buying equation so communities like The Village at Wellard, which wraps around a train station are attracting interest,” Mrs Ferraz said.
